At the end of the Meiji era, Suekichi Sasaki, who had studied under the founder of Fukui eyewear industry, Gozaemon Masunaga, eventually rose to the position of managing the factory. He was told by Masunaga:
"Sasaki-kun, become independent and venture into celluloid. The era of stylish eyewear, primarily for women, is approaching. At that time, celluloid will undoubtedly play a significant role."
And so, the history of Sasaki Celluloid began.
For over a century since then, Sasaki Celluloid has been consistently crafting high-quality eyewear, evolving from celluloid to acetate, while the materials have changed.
